Description

This Slow Cooker Pierogies recipe combines frozen cheddar pierogies, sliced kielbasa, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese in a flavorful chicken broth base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 32 oz. frozen classic cheddar pierogies (two 16-oz. boxes, Mrs. T’s brand recommended)
  • 12 oz. kielbasa, sliced
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen pierogies into the slow cooker. Add the sliced kielbasa, cubed cream cheese, and cheddar cheese on top of the pierogies, layering evenly.
  2. Pour 3 cups of chicken broth over the pierogies and other ingredients, ensuring they are well covered.
  3. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 4 hours. Be careful not to cook longer as the pierogies may start to fall apart, affecting texture.
  4. After cooking, gently stir the mixture to combine the melted cheeses and broth. Serve warm immediately for best flavor and texture.
