Description

Enjoy tender, flavorful chicken drumsticks coated in a sticky, sweet, and tangy honey mustard glaze made effortlessly in your slow cooker. This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 pieces Chicken drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup Whole grain mustard
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, minced garlic, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar until well combined.
  2. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Sprinkle evenly with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Place the seasoned drumsticks in a single layer in your slow cooker.
  4. Pour the honey mustard marinade over the drumsticks, turning each piece to coat thoroughly.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender.
  6. Carefully pour the leftover cooking liquid into a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until it thickens into a glossy glaze.
  7. Transfer the drumsticks to a baking sheet. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes, until the edges are crisp and the glaze caramelizes.
  8. Transfer the slow cooker honey mustard chicken drumsticks to a platter. Spoon extra glaze over the top and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can marinate the chicken up to 24 hours in advance for deeper flavor.
