Description
This Slow Cooker Chicken Drumsticks recipe offers tender, fall-off-the-bone chicken infused with a sweet and tangy BBQ peach glaze, complemented by a hint of heat from fresh jalapeños.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8–10 chicken drumsticks
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
- 1 cup peach preserves
- ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons fresh jalapeños, diced
Instructions
- Add the chicken drumsticks into a slow cooker liner. Sprinkle with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder. Toss well to coat all drumsticks evenly with the seasoning.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, peach preserves, low sodium soy sauce, and diced jalapeños until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the seasoned chicken in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is tender and falling off the bone.
- For slightly crisp drumsticks, preheat your oven broiler to low. Transfer cooked drumsticks to a baking sheet and broil for 3-4 minutes until the glaze caramelizes slightly.
- Sprinkle sliced green onions over the cooked chicken before serving to add a fresh and vibrant finish.
