Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and 2 cups of sugar until combined. Beat in the 4 eggs, one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in the 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- Spread half of the red velvet brownie batter into the prepared pan. Dollop the cheesecake mixture on top and use a knife to swirl it into the brownie batter.
- Spread the remaining red velvet brownie batter over the top, covering the cheesecake layer completely.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
- For best results, let the brownies cool before cutting.
