  • 4 cloves Garlic (Fresh is recommended for best flavor.)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (Replace with olive oil for vegan option.)
  • Herbs (such as parsley or oregano) (Get creative with your favorites.)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Gradually add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently. Divide it into equal pieces, roll each piece into a strip, and twist it into a knot shape.
  5. Arrange the shaped knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover them, and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the garlic knots for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown.
  8. As soon as the knots come out of the oven, brush them generously with the warm garlic butter. Enjoy immediately!
