Description

Experience the delightful taste of creamy brown butter tortellini, a quick and comforting dish perfect for any weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 4 leaves fresh sage (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 9 ounces tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a light-colored pot over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns amber brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped sage to the browned butter and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and broth, stirring to combine. Allow to simmer and thicken slightly, around 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the tortellini directly into the creamy sauce, stirring gently. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until heated through.
  5. Sprinkle in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and mix until melted and the sauce is creamy, about 2 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm, garnished with extra sage or Parmesan if desired.
