- 1 pound beef brisket, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, diced

- 2 cups napa cabbage, chopped
- 8 cups beef or chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced beef brisket and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef or chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the carrots and napa cabbage, and let the soup simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt as needed.
