Description

Chicken Paprikash is a classic Hungarian dish featuring tender chicken in a rich, creamy paprika-infused sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned on all sides.
  2. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
  3. Stir in the paprika and caraway seeds (if using) and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Whisk together the chicken broth, sour cream, and flour. Pour the mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce thicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the Chicken Paprikash over cooked egg noodles, garnished with chopped parsley.
