Description

Delicious Caramelitas – Irresistible Caramel Oatmeal Bars!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (drizzled generously)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper, allowing a slight overhang to help lift the bars out later.
  2. Whisk together the melted unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until creamy and well blended.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gently fold in the rolled oats until everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even foundation.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the base turns golden brown.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes after removing from the oven to allow the base to set slightly.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top of the warm base.
  8. Drizzle the thick caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
  9. Flatten small pieces of the remaining cookie dough and place them over the caramel sauce.
  10. Bake again for another 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  11. Cool completely for about 4 hours.
  12. Lift the bars from the pan using the parchment overhang and slice them on a cutting board.
