Delicious Caramelitas – Irresistible Caramel Oatmeal Bars!
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce (drizzled generously)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper, allowing a slight overhang to help lift the bars out later.
- Whisk together the melted unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until creamy and well blended.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, then gently fold in the rolled oats until everything is evenly mixed.
- Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even foundation.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the base turns golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes after removing from the oven to allow the base to set slightly.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top of the warm base.
- Drizzle the thick caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
- Flatten small pieces of the remaining cookie dough and place them over the caramel sauce.
- Bake again for another 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Cool completely for about 4 hours.
- Lift the bars from the pan using the parchment overhang and slice them on a cutting board.
