- 330 g Prawns
- 2 tbsp Chopped Spring Onion
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Dashi Powder or MSG
- 1 Egg White
- 1 tsp Plain Flour
- 6 Small Steamed Buns
- Melted Butter
- Dipping Sauce
- Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Mince the prawns into a sticky paste using a food processor.
- Mix minced prawns, spring onion, salt, sugar, white pepper, dashi powder, egg white, and plain flour in a bowl.
- Soften the small steamed buns in the microwave for 40 seconds.
- Spread a generous portion of the prawn mixture into the center of each bun.
- Coat the filling with sesame seeds if desired or brush the tops with melted butter, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Brush the buns lightly with melted butter and air fry them at 190°C (375°F) for about 8 minutes.
- Serve the air-fried prawn bao warm, alongside your choice of dipping sauce.
