Ingredients

  • 330 g Prawns
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Spring Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Dashi Powder or MSG
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 tsp Plain Flour
  • 6 Small Steamed Buns
  • Melted Butter
  • Dipping Sauce
  • Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Mince the prawns into a sticky paste using a food processor.
  2. Mix minced prawns, spring onion, salt, sugar, white pepper, dashi powder, egg white, and plain flour in a bowl.
  3. Soften the small steamed buns in the microwave for 40 seconds.
  4. Spread a generous portion of the prawn mixture into the center of each bun.
  5. Coat the filling with sesame seeds if desired or brush the tops with melted butter, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Brush the buns lightly with melted butter and air fry them at 190°C (375°F) for about 8 minutes.
  7. Serve the air-fried prawn bao warm, alongside your choice of dipping sauce.
