Enjoy a warm mug of this easy vanilla cinnamon milk tea recipe. It combines black tea with sweet vanilla and spicy cinnamon for a comforting drink perfect for any afternoon.

- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons sweetener (honey, sugar, or maple syrup)
- Optional: 1 star anise, 2 cardamom pods, 1 clove
- Optional garnish: cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Boil water in a saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick and any optional whole spices. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add black tea bags and steep for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in milk and vanilla extract. Add sweetener.
- Heat the mixture until steaming, stirring gently. Do not boil.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Remove tea bags and strain out spices if desired.
- Pour into mugs, garnish with a cinnamon stick if using, and serve hot.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use oat milk or soy milk.
- Adjust sweetener to your preference.
- Use decaf tea for a bedtime drink.
- Add vanilla extract at the end of heating to preserve its flavor.
