- 40 Saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a boil.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread it evenly over the toffee.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top before the chocolate sets.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
