Description

This Pecan Pie Dump Cake is a simple and delicious dessert that combines the rich flavors of pecan pie with the ease of a dump cake. It features layers of sweet pecans and caramel topped with a buttery cake mix, creating a golden, gooey treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup caramel topping
  • ½ cup salted caramel topping
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups pecan halves
  • 1 box Butter Pecan Cake Mix (or White Cake Mix if unavailable)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup crushed or halved pecans
  • Salted caramel topping for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350º Fahrenheit. Spray a 13×9-inch baking pan with baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Add brown sugar, caramel topping, salted caramel topping, and melted butter. Stir until combined. Fold in the pecan halves.
  3. Pour the pecan mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  4. In another bowl, combine the cake mix with melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the pecan mixture.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbling.
  6. Let the Pecan Pie Dump Cake cool for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with crushed or halved pecans and a drizzle of salted caramel topping.

Notes

  • If Butter Pecan Cake Mix is unavailable, White Cake Mix is a good substitute.
  • Using both regular and salted caramel topping provides a balanced sweet and salty flavor.
  • Allowing the cake to cool before garnishing improves texture and helps toppings adhere.
  • Toasting the pecans before mixing can enhance flavor.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
