Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces Chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 4 cloves Garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Chopped green onions (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (toasted, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Marinade: Whisk honey, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, rice vinegar, and pepper in a medium bowl until smooth.
- Marinate: Place chicken thighs in a zip-top bag, pour marinade over, and refrigerate for 15 minutes up to 2 hours.
- Sear Chicken: Heat oil in an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until golden-brown and crisp.
- Glaze and Flip: Brush chicken tops with reserved marinade, flip, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens into a sticky glaze.
- Bake to Finish: Transfer the skillet to a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest and Garnish: Remove chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For extra sweetness, drizzle additional honey over the chicken before serving.
- This recipe is also delicious made with chicken breast, though cooking times may vary.
- Consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a spicy kick.
