Description

Juicy and tender chicken drumsticks glazed in a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce, baked to perfection with crispy skin. This easy recipe is a weeknight favorite that impresses with its simple preparation and comforting flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 pieces Chicken drumsticks (fresh, bone-in)
  • 1/2 cup Honey (raw or wildflower)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley (finely chopped, for garnish)
  • 2 pieces Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Pat drumsticks dry and coat evenly with half of the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  4. Arrange drumsticks skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet with space in between.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until caramelized and golden brown, then baste with reserved marinade.
  6. Continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving, garnished with parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, drizzle fresh honey over the drumsticks before serving.
  • Patting the chicken dry before marinating helps the skin crisp up beautifully.
  • Marinate longer, even overnight, for deeper flavor.
  • Arrange drumsticks with space between them for crispy skin.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Rest drumsticks for 5 minutes after baking to lock in juices.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
