  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil or Avocado Oil (if needed)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, cut into cubes and softened
  • 1/2 cup Beef Broth (low-sodium)
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground, or to taste)
  • 2 cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Transfer beef to a bowl, leaving 1-2 tablespoons of fat in the skillet.
  3. Add diced onion to the skillet and sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until wilted and tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet. Add softened cream cheese, beef broth, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir over medium heat until cream cheese melts and a creamy sauce forms.
  6. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  8. For a golden crust, broil for the last 1-3 minutes, watching closely.
